Approved By: Senior Leadership Team

Thrive Education Group is committed to ensuring, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of our employees and temporary workers, and to protecting others who may be affected by our activities, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.

Legal Framework

  • Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR)
  • Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992
  • Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003

Responsibilities

  • CEO (Ian Rafferty): Overall responsibility for health and safety, providing resources and setting policy.
  • COO (Ryan Davies): Day-to-day management of health and safety, incident investigation and review of this policy.
  • Managers: Ensure workers are informed about client health and safety arrangements before deployment, and follow up any concerns raised.
  • Agency Workers: Take reasonable care of themselves and others, follow site rules and training, and report hazards or accidents immediately.
  • Client Schools: Hold primary duty for health and safety on their premises, and provide induction and risk information.

Our Office

Our team works from a coworking office at Avenue HQ, 4 St Paul’s Square, Liverpool. The building operator manages building safety, including fire alarms, evacuation procedures and first aid provision. All staff must follow the building’s fire and evacuation procedures, know the location of first aid points, and report any hazards to the building management and to the COO.

Risk Management

  • Pre-assignment risk information gathered from clients (induction, contacts, specific risks).
  • Worker competence checks (qualifications, training, reasonable adjustments).
  • Incident reporting and RIDDOR escalation where applicable.
  • DSE, lone working and driving for work controls for Thrive employees.

Emergency Procedures

Workers must know local fire, first aid and lockdown procedures on each site. All incidents must be reported to the school and to Thrive Education Group the same day. We record and investigate each case.

Monitoring and Review

We review health and safety performance annually and after incidents to ensure continual improvement.
